An experiment, initiated in 2005, utilized metal forms as ground. Shapes and forms, cut and bent by a Cleveland steel company to my specifications, were springboards to artistic output in which I compared and contrasted textures of the metal with raffia, hemp, old timber, painted canvas, and other materials. Social issues such as ancient/modern, inside/outside, and personal relationships were explored.
